The Ohio House has concurred with the Senate's amendments, passing the CCV-backed House Bill 8 (HB8). HB8 now heads to Governor Mike DeWine. Read the statement from Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer on the passage of HB8.

The Ohio Senate passed House Bill 8 (HB8)! HB8, the Parents' Bill of Rights, protects parents' fundamental right to make decisions regarding their child’s upbringing, care, and education. HB8 also protects students' right to receive religious education during the school day through religious release time programs like LifeWise Academy.

House Bill 8 (HB8), sponsored by Representatives D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) and Sara P. Carruthers (R-Hamilton), was voted out of the Ohio Senate Education Committee. 

HB8 contains the Parents' Bill of Rights and a measure to protect students' right to receive religious education during the school day through religious released time.

HB8 must now receive a floor vote in the Senate and then a concurrence vote in the House of Representatives to be sent to Governor DeWine for final approval.

House Bill 8 (HB8), sponsored by Representatives D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) and Sara P. Carruthers (R-Hamilton), is scheduled to receive a vote during the 3:00 pm hearing in the Ohio Senate Education Committee today–Tuesday, December 17.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has signed Amended Senate Bill 104 (SB104) into law, also known as the "Bathroom Bill" or the "Protect All Students Act," which ensures students in K-12 schools and universities have single-sex bathrooms, locker rooms, and more.

Moments ago, the Ohio Senate passed Senate Bill 104. The bill now heads to Governor DeWine. HB183 would require schools and colleges to designate separate bathrooms, locker rooms, and overnight accommodations for males and females in the school building, as well as any facility used for a school-sponsored event.
