Watch Troy McIntosh Testify on Bill to Regulate Private Schools
COLUMBUS–House Bill 407 (HB407) is scheduled to receive an all-testimony hearing and a possible vote in the House Primary and Secondary Education Committee today–Wednesday, November 20–at 11:00 am.
HB407, sponsored by Representatives Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) and Bill Seitz (R-Cincinnati), would regulate private schools that provide EdChoice scholarships to needy families–which would ensure they become more like public schools, including requiring the Department of Education and Workforce to create a report card for the private schools.
Troy McIntosh, CCV's Ohio Christian Education Network Executive Director, will testify on HB407 as an interested party.
Please note that the Committee's agenda may include other bills for consideration, and this bill may not be the first to be heard. Committee hearings at the Ohio Statehouse are open to the public.
If you're unable to attend the hearing, you can watch the recording once it's been posted.
To become law, a bill must go through both Chambers of the Ohio Statehouse to be sent to the governor for his approval.
