Everyone at CCV shares our Christian faith and Core Values, and plays a key role in driving our mission forward.
As a Christian ministry, CCV has a Statement of Faith that is the foundation of all our work. All employees must believe, adhere, and hold to this Statement of Faith along with our commitment to our Core Issues and Mission.
Are you ready to join the team knit together by God for such a time as this?
Mission
Center for Christian Virtue seeks the good of our neighbors by advocating for public policy that reflects the truth of the Gospel.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
CCV is a Christian organization. In faithful pursuit of our mission, we require all employees and board members affirm at least one of the two following Statements of Faith. Additionally, we require every employee and board member affirm CCV’s Core Beliefs on Key Issues. These statements do not exhaust the extent of CCV’s scriptural, doctrinal, or public policy beliefs, nor their application to matters of conduct and policy.
Statement 1
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God;
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory;
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential;
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life;
We believe that all those who die in God’s grace through faith are assured eternal salvation; those who die in a state of sin and unbelief suffer the punishment of hell;
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, gender, and class differences;
Statement 2
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father,
the Almighty maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.We believe in our Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten not made, of one Being with the Father.Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of Life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son].
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come.
Core beliefs on key issues
The Bible is CCV’s source of religious authority for all matters of faith and conduct:
We believe in the intrinsic value of every individual being of inestimable worth in all its
dimensions. (Psalm 139)
We believe in the equal dignity of every woman and man, and that their sexuality was
designed as a gift to be used only within their marriage to bring unity and bring forth and
cherish the next generation. (Genesis 2:18-25, Mark 10:6-9, 1 Corinthians 7:2-5)
We believe that every child, from the moment of conception, should be a cherished child,
protected within a strong family, formed by birth or adoption. (Psalm 127:3-5)
We believe in the value of every individual, of marriage between a man and a woman, and
of family as basic tenets of our Christianity because we have been “made in the image of
God,” male and female, and because Christ died for all. But we believe these values are also
intrinsic to human nature. As such, we share them with all reasonable and sincere people,
regardless of their faith or lack of faith. (Genesis 1:27-28, Ephesians 5:21-33)
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.
These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God.
(Genesis 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of God’s plan for that
person’s sexuality.
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one
woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Genesis 2:18-25, Malachi 2:13-16).
We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between one man and
one woman who are married to each other. (1 Corinthians 6:18, 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4).
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a
marriage between one man and one woman.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality is sinful and offensive to God. (Matthew
15:18-20, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
We believe that the Body of Christ around the world, the church, is responsible for
speaking and living these values, acting to provide support and healing when these values
are not lived out, thereby leading cultures to embrace God’s gift of life. (Matthew 5:13-16,
1 Corinthians 1:26-31)
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their
sin, seeking his mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Act 3:19, Romans 10:8-13, 1
Corinthians 6:9-11, I John 1:7-10)
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and
dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31-37). Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed
toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the
doctrines of CCV.
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of CCV as the local Body of
Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the CCV members and the community, it is
imperative that all persons employed by CCV in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers,
personally agree with and adhere to Statement of Faith and Core Beliefs.
This Statement of Faith and Core Beliefs does not exhaust the extent of CCV's scriptural
and doctrinal beliefs.
