Ruth Edmonds Returns to CCV as Director of Christian Engagement
COLUMBUS—Center for Christian Virtue (CCV), formerly Citizens for Community Values, Ohio’s largest Christian public policy organization, is thrilled to announce the return of Ruth Edmonds as Director of Christian Engagement.
"Center for Christian Virtue continues to expand to serve the church and empower families to impact the culture," said Aaron Baer, President of Center for Christian Virtue. "There are few leaders in America that have the courage and strength to inspire Christians to action like Ruth Edmonds. In her new role, she'll be working with churches, allies, and activists to empower them to be a force for life, family, and freedom ."
Ruth returns to CCV following her campaign for Ohio's 15th Congressional District. Prior to her campaign she served at CCV as its Church Relations Director, engaging with pastors across the state with the cultural and political challenges facing them and their congregants.
"I am grateful and excited for this opportunity to continue serving God in such a time as this to be an ambassador for Christians throughout Ohio" said Ruth Edmonds. "Through the grace of God and by serving with CCV, I am confident that we will be able to accomplish kingdom work that benefits all of our constituents, and paves a path for others to follow."
The entire CCV team will be working closely with Ruth as she employs her expertise in grassroots organizing with her voice in public policy. Her previous areas of emphasis include combating Critical Race Theory, supporting Constitutional freedoms, and promoting educational choice policies. Ruth actively takes part in a movement to unite us all as one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice for all.
In addition to her role at CCV, Ruth has served as President of the Columbus NAACP. She has served as an aide and advisor to the administration of several elected office holders, including Franklin County Auditor Clarence Mingo, and former Ohio Governor Bob Taft. Having been ordained as a minister, and serving as a member of the ministry leadership team at Columbus Christian Center, Ruth is grounded as a disciple of Christ, and her faith has been the foundation of her politics.
Ruth was a Fellow at the Acton Institute and an Inaugural Fellow with the Club for Growth. She received a B.A. in Communications from Denison University, while working two jobs to help put herself through school, Paralegal certification from Capital University Law School and certificate in public and nonprofit leadership from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs at The Ohio State University. Ruth Edmonds is the mother of two adult daughters and lives in central Ohio with her husband George, a local high school science teacher, former Police Officer, and former member of the Ohio Army National Guard.
