BREAKING: Judge blocks common-sense limits on abortion pills
COLUMBUS–Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas Judge Alison Hatheway has issued a preliminary injunction against laws limiting medication abortion, including a measure prohibiting nondoctors from prescribing abortion pills. The injunction also blocks Ohio’s requirement for the abortifacient mifepristone to be prescribed in alignment with the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) label for the drug.
The following statement is from Center for Christian Virtue Senior Fellow for Strategic Initiatives Peter Range:
"ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and the abortion lobby have made it clear: they are after every common-sense law which protects mothers and babies in our state. This most recent ruling is just another example of how they want abortion on demand, without any restrictions whatsoever. This puts mothers, and of course babies, at risk in the state of Ohio.
"We need to return to common sense laws which protect women and protect the preborn in Ohio."
