What the media won't say about public schools

Join CCV President Aaron Baer and Policy Director David Mahan once more on The Narrative, where they unpack the toughest issues of the day, including:

  • The need for compassion instead of scoring headlines and political points with brashness, especially in times of world crisis

  • The swimmer whose ranking went from #462 to #1 overnight... and how

  • The spectacular failures of pandemic "learning" in impoverished neighborhoods

More about the Guest

Pastor Ben Douglass has been the driving force behind starting a school inside of a local church in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America: The Columbus Hilltop.

A strong public-school advocate, Pastor Ben's eyes were opened to the need for educational choice from experiences with his own daughter.

Tune in to The Narrative anywhere you get your podcasts to hear Pastor Ben's story!

Pastor Ben Douglass is the lead pastor at Faith Community Church on the West side of Columbus, Ohio in the Central Hilltop neighborhood. Ben and his wife, Andi, moved into the Central Hilltop neighborhood, have raised their kids here, and are committed to walking with people on their journey to know God the Father through our Savior Jesus Christ. He will tell you, at the core of our faith is relationship with God, and living into genuine Christian community. He spent his early years in a diverse neighborhood, learned how to dance as a kid at AA functions, and knows what it’s like to grow up in trauma. Jesus changes everything, and will change your life!
