Watch third hearing for bill to ban discriminatory DEI at Ohio's state colleges!

COLUMBUS–Senate Bill 1 (SB1), sponsored by Senator Jerry Cirino (R-Kirtland), is scheduled to receive its third hearing before the Ohio Senate Higher Education Committee on Tuesday, February 11, at 2:00 pm.

Known as the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act, SB1 would ban DEI courses, training, and required statements; spending on DEI initiatives or programs with the same intent; and political and ideological litmus tests in all hiring, promotion, and admissions decisions at Ohio's state colleges and universities.

Watch the Hearing

The Advance Ohio Higher Education Act is scheduled for an "all testimony" hearing, meaning both proponents and opponents of the bill will be testifying.

If you're unable to attend the hearing, you can watch the recording once it's posted. Please note that the hearing agenda may include other bills for consideration, and this bill may not be the first one to be heard.
