WATCH NOW: Student Religious Expression Bill Gets Hearing

COLUMBUS—Senate Bill 49 (SB49) would require public schools to allow students up to three days of excused absence each academic year for religious observance. Sponsored by Sen. Michele Reynolds (R-Canal Winchester), SB49 is scheduled to receive a hearing before the Ohio Senate Education Committee today—Tuesday, February 28—at 3:00 pm.

Watch Center for Christian Virtue Legislative Liaison Nilani Jawahar and others testify in support of SB49.

Please note that there are other bills on the committee's agenda and SB49 may not be the first one to be heard. Committee hearings are open to the public at the Ohio Statehouse.
