WATCH NOW: Hearing for Bill to Expand So-Called Medical Marijuana Access

COLUMBUS—Senate Bill 9 (SB9) would expand the so-called Medical Marijuana Program. In reality, this bill would move the program from the Board of Pharmacy to the Department of Commerce, setting the stage for legalized recreational marijuana in Ohio. SB9 would also increase the potency limit from 70 percent to 90 percent and remove advertising regulations.

Sponsored by Senators Steve Huffman (R-Tipp City) and Kirk Schuring (R-Canton), SB9 is scheduled to receive a hearing before the Ohio Senate General Government today—Tuesday, March 7—at 3:00 pm.

Watch Center for Christian Virtue Policy Director David Mahan testify in opposition to SB9.

Please note that there are other bills on the committee's agenda and SB9 may not be the first one to be heard. Committee hearings are open to the public at the Ohio Statehouse.
