Watch Now: David Mahan Testifying on Senate Bill to Protect Children from Obscene Websites
COLUMBUS—Senate Bill 212 (SB212), sponsored by Senators Stephanie Kunze (R-Dublin) and Bill DeMora (D-Columbus), is scheduled to receive its second hearing before the Senate Financial Institutions and Technology Committee today–Tuesday, May 7–at 9:30 am.
Similar to the Innocence Act (HB295) in the Ohio House of Representatives, SB212 aims to protect children from the porn industry by requiring Ohioans to provide ID for age verification to access obscene websites.
Please note that the Committee's agenda may include other bills for consideration, and SB212 may not be the first to be heard. Committee hearings at the Ohio Statehouse are open to the public.
