The Rundown: Drugs, Borders, and Pandemic Closures

Pandemic Failures

Columbus students affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic (Gaelen Morse, The Columbus Dispatch)

What’s Happening

  • Ohio's report card: The education fallout from the pandemic school closures are becoming increasingly obvious. The most recent results from The Nation's Report Card, by the National Assessment of Educational Progress, show dramatic declines in math and reading scores. For the first since the NAEP began the testing in 1990, test scores across the nation have declined. Ohio ranks below the national average decline.

Listen Up

Dr. Alveda C. King recently blessed us with her presence at the Ohio March for Life. Last week we were honored to have her join us on The Narrative podcast for a powerful conversation on the life movement, race, and her family's legacy of bold faith in the face of injustice.

Go give it a listen now!

Prayer

Scripture calls us to pray for those in authority and to have confidence that God hears our prayers. Join the CCV team this week in praying for:

  • The upcoming midterm election, that Christians would be encouraged to vote and that righteousness would prevail.

  • Parents, that they would be equipped to walk faithfully through the challenges of navigating the education of their children.

Center for Christian Virtue

As Ohio’s largest Christian public policy organization, Center for Christian Virtue seeks the good of our neighbors by advocating for public policy that reflects the truth of the Gospel.
