The Rundown: Drugs, Borders, and Pandemic Closures
Pandemic Failures
What’s Happening
Ohio's report card: The education fallout from the pandemic school closures are becoming increasingly obvious. The most recent results from The Nation's Report Card, by the National Assessment of Educational Progress, show dramatic declines in math and reading scores. For the first since the NAEP began the testing in 1990, test scores across the nation have declined. Ohio ranks below the national average decline.
CDC Recommends COVID-19 Vaccine for Schools: Last week, the Center for Disease Control Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices added the COVID-19 vaccine to its list of routinely recommended vaccinations, which schools and local health officials reference when determining required vaccines. However, individual states and districts have the authority to decide which vaccines are required to attend school. Currently, Ohio is not requiring the vaccine for its students.
Proposed Ordinance in Bowling Green Draws Opposition: Bowling Green City Council is considering an ordinance that would add “sexual or reproductive health decisions” to the definition of “sex” in city law, effectively forcing pro-life nonprofit organizations to make abortion referrals. Center for Christian Virtue, Alliance Defending Freedom, and Christian Employers Alliance sent a letter stating that the ordinance is unconstitutional and urging Council members to reject the ordinance. Ohio Right to Life has also voiced its opposition to the ordinance.

The upcoming midterm election, that Christians would be encouraged to vote and that righteousness would prevail.
Parents, that they would be equipped to walk faithfully through the challenges of navigating the education of their children.
