The Church is still government’s guide to true north
As the new General Assembly of state lawmakers takes on critical and contentious issues in this session, it will require greater moral and ethical contemplations by them. Given that, according to Romans 13, lawmakers are agents of God’s government, whether they know it or not, they will need prayers of intercession, pastoral counsel and Godly wisdom to assist them in finding true north in deliberations. The scripture in Psalm 18:30 says, “This God—His way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.” As Shepherds of God’s Church, you are uniquely equipped to be a guide to that true north for the Shepherds of God’s government.
I invite you to partner with the Church Ambassador Network in up-coming opportunities to grow your understanding of the legislative process and bills being considered at our statehouse, and to connect with those legislators whose leadership and votes on those bills will impact the quality of life in the community where you serve.
• Faith Friday conference call on February 5 at 10:00 am. One of our guests will be State Rep. Tim Ginter, who’s also a senior pastor.
• Pastors’ Day at the Statehouse on February 25 at 10:00 am in the Atrium, where worship and prayer will take place along with greetings from members of the General Assembly.
• 1 Timothy 2 Prayer Session where you pray with an assigned lawmaker on a regular basis over a 15-minute Zoom call.
Time to pray together for The Church, our State, and our Nation
It cannot be said that Shepherds of God’s Church in Ohio could not come together in unity. Each month since the pandemic outbreak, pastors throughout Ohio and across denominations have gathered together in manifestation of Psalm 133. And the promised blessings of the Lord have been evident in all ministries that have participated in the fellowship.
This Thursday, January 28, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am is the next opportunity for you to connect with the Ohio Pastors Prayer Movement over Zoom. This will be a time of prayer, exhortation, and sharing, in that order. Click here for the Zoom link.
Where the Shepherds of the Church of Jesus lead, their sheep will follow. We look forward to being strengthened and guided in our time together.
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.

Blessings!
