Late on Monday, a leaked copy of a draft majority opinion brief in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health case, penned by Justice Samuel Alito, was leaked to Politico. 

The draft showed the Court is preparing to systematically dismantle and overturn Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision that mandated legalized abortion in all 50 states. 

Both the nature of the draft and the brief, and the fact that it was leaked are historical.
