Breaking News: Ohio Supreme Court Lets Kids Be Sterilized… For Now

Ohio Supreme Court Denies Emergency Motion to Uphold Law and Protect Kids

COLUMBUS – The Ohio Supreme Court has denied a request from Attorney General Dave Yost to overturn in whole or in part a Franklin County judge’s illegal decision issuing a statewide block of the CCV-backed House Bill 68 (SAFE Act and Save Women's Sports Act). The law prohibits transgender medical procedures on kids and protects girls from being forced to compete against boys.

The following statement is from Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer:

"Six justices on the Ohio Supreme Court neutered the rule of law and children will be sterilized because of their actions today. The high court has handed the keys to the state over to one Franklin County judge, and allowed profit-driven gender clinics to continue their dangerous and deadly experiments on our kids.

"Attorney General Yost took decisive action to protect our kids and uphold the rule of law by filing his emergency motion with the Supreme Court. Not only was it right morally and ethically, but it was the prudent legal action because of the irresponsible and overreaching decision issued by Franklin County Judge Michael Holbrook.

"There will be Ohio children who never know the blessing of having their own children one day because of Justice Joe Deters, Justice Pat DeWine, Justice Pat Fischer, Justice Jennifer Brunner, Justice Michael Donnelly, and Justice Melody Stewart’s actions today. Only Chief Justice Sharon Kennedy saw through Judge Holbrook's nonsensical legal arguments and had the courage to do the right thing.

"There is a long road ahead for this litigation, and we remain confident that the law is on our side. But Ohioans must demand more from our elected judges, especially when children's health and safety are on the line."
