BREAKING NEWS: Ohio House Passes CCV-Backed Bill to Protect Girls’ Sports
Statement from Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer
COLUMBUS – The Ohio House once again passed the CCV-backed Save Women’s Sports Act, which would ensure girls participating in Ohio athletics aren’t forced to compete against boys. This is the second time the chamber has passed this bill. Today, the House inserted the important provision into another bill, House Bill 151, which updates and modifies Ohio’s teacher licensure standards.
The following statement is from Center for Christian Virtue President Aaron Baer:
“Ohio needs to catch up with the nationwide movement to save women’s sports, and protect our girls from being forced to compete against boys. This year, our nation celebrates 50 years since Title IX was enacted federally, ensuring girls would have equal opportunities to compete in athletics. The Ohio House took an important step today to restore that promise, and to ensure no boy steals a girl’s spot on the podium.
“I urge the Ohio Senate and Governor Mike DeWine to act quickly on this bill to ensure when Ohio girls come back to school this fall, they’re guaranteed a safe and fair playing field.“
