BREAKING NEWS: House Committee Passes SAFE Act and Save Women's Sports Act

COLUMBUS–This morning, substitute House Bill 68 (HB68), sponsored by Representative Gary Click (R-Vickery), passed out of the House Public Health Policy Committee with a 7-6 vote. It must now head to the full House Chamber for a floor vote.

The Saving Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act would ban dangerous puberty-blocking drugs, wrong-sex hormones, and transgender surgeries on children.

The Save Women's Sports Act, sponsored by Representative Jena Powell (R-Arcanum), was included in the substitute bill accepted this morning, and would preserve the integrity of women’s sports by protecting female athletes from having to compete against biological males.

The following statement is from Center for Christian Virtue Policy Director David Mahan:

"The unmitigated greed of the gender-medicine industry has led to countless children being mutilated and sterilized for life. Today's committee vote was a great win and another important step towards protecting women's sports and vulnerable children from exploitation in Ohio.

"Thank you to Representatives Gary Click, Brian Stewart, and Jena Powell for their strong leadership to protect women and children. The entire Ohio General Assembly must take action and pass the SAFE Act."
