ACTION ALERT: Ohio Schools Push LGBT+ Ideology in Sports
Ohio School Sports Summit Includes Transgender Politics in Agenda
COLUMBUS—The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) recently held a summit on “Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging.” Among other “woke” subjects discussed at the summit were “The Gender Unicorn: Demystifying the LGBTQIA+ Spectrum” and “Cultivating Affirmation and Belonging for LGBTQIA+ Youth.” The full agenda for the summit can be found here.
The OHSAA’s official “transgender policy” professes to balance the interests of “transgender students” and “women’s sports,” but events like this show that the OHSAA does not have the best interests of female athletes in mind.
“Any admittance of male athletes onto an exclusively-female team is a threat to girls who work hard to be able to participate,” said Nilani Jawahar, Legislative Liaison for Center for Christian Virtue. “Ohio needs to follow in the footsteps of states like Arizona, Kentucky, and Oklahoma, who recently signed into law legislation to preserve the integrity of women’s sports.”
All this comes amidst the news of the University of Pennsylvania swimmer William Thomas, who ranked #462 on the men's swim team, changed his name to “Lia” three years later, joined the women's team, and has been demolishing women's swim records ever since. Last year in Akron, Ohio, he beat the fastest female swimmer by 38 seconds—2 full laps!
This year marks 50 years since the landmark Title IX decision gave all women the opportunity to compete in fair athletic competitions, but now, women are being erased from their own sports in the name of equity and inclusion. This nonsense must end. Common sense and a fair playing field must win. We must Save Women’s Sports!
