STATEMENT: 60 Million Lives Isn’t Enough for SCOTUS

U.S. Supreme Court Sides With Abortionists Over Women

Statement from CCV Legal Counsel Rachel Citak

COLUMBUS – The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled 5-4 in the June Medical Services v. Russo case to block Louisiana’s law requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. The following statement is from CCV Legal Counsel Rachel Citak:

“More than 60 million lives have been lost to abortion. Countless women have been harmed by the dangerous and deadly practice. And the U.S. Supreme Court just ruled to give abortion providers special treatment.

“Louisiana’s law was simply seeking to hold surgical abortion clinics to the same standard as similar surgical facilities. Instead of allowing the state to protect the health and safety of women, the court has once again overstepped their bounds, and blocked duly-elected public officials from doing their job.

“Women deserve better. Unborn children deserve better. Voters deserve better. And our Constitution deserves better than a Chief Justice and a Supreme Court that undermines the foundational principles that our nation was founded on: separation of powers and government of the people.

“As for Ohio, there are significant differences between Ohio’s law requiring a transfer agreement for surgical abortion facilities and Louisiana’s law. Thankfully, this law will still be in place to protect the health and safety of women.

“There is no greater atrocity in America today than abortion. Citizens for Community Values will continue to fight until all human life is protected from its very beginning.”
