Media Advisory: Strip Club Illegally Operating in Toledo

Press Conference Calling for Toledo Council to Take Action Against Illegally Operating Strip Club
Toledo Council continues to ignore the community’s call for help

TOLEDO – A Toledo church and community activists are hosting a press conference to call on the City Council to stop ignoring a sexually-oriented business operating illegally within 500 feet of a family amusement park, a daycare, and a church.

“Black Diamonds” opened in March 2019. Since that time, the church and community leaders have spoken with Council members multiple times, requesting they take action to uphold the law. Each time, the City promised to respond, but has taken no substantive action.

On May 17, Citizens for Community Values, Ohio’s Family Policy Council, sent a letter detailing the city code Black Diamond was violating. Despite emails from the city law director claiming the city was “taking steps to enforce the zoning code,” Black Diamonds continues operations.

Enough is enough. It’s time for the City Council to explain why they refuse to protect the community and uphold the law.
