Aaron Baer, an Ohio native who currently serves as the Arizona Attorney General’s Policy Advisor, will be stepping into the role this November.Since 1988, Citizens for Community Values has been a leader in Ohio, standing for religious freedom, families, and life. Under Phil Burress’s leadership, the organization has witnessed tremendous success, including the passage of the 2004 marriage amendment.“For decades Phil has steadfastly stood by the wheel guiding CCV,” said Joe Trauth, chairman of the board of CCV. “The board and families across Ohio owe Phil a great debt of gratitude for his faithful leadership.”As CCV’s next president, Aaron Baer brings successful experience advancing public policy supporting life, marriage, family and religious freedom along with working in political campaigns. Prior to serving in Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich’s executive office, Aaron was a Vice President at Center for Arizona Policy, one of the nation’s premier state-based public policy organizations committed to promoting and defending foundational principles.“CCV has a unique and important voice for Ohio. Building on the strong foundation built by Phil and countless others, we will advocate for hope for our future, and to cultivate a state where families thrive, life is protected and religious freedom is respected and enjoyed by all,” said Aaron Baer.Aaron will be moving to Ohio this September. Phil’s official retirement will follow the 2016 election this November.“At the end of 2015, I expressed my desire to the board to start a new chapter in life – one filled with time with my wife, children and grandchildren,” Phil Burress said. “Leaving this organization was not an easy decision, but I know that Aaron’s heart for Ohio’s families and experience working to advance public policy make him the right man for the job,”Aaron is a Warren, Ohio native and a 2009 graduate of Ohio University’s EW Scripps School of Journalism.
