When boys wear skirts... and schools cover up scandal
Today on The Narrative Podcast, join CCV President Aaron Baer and Policy Director David Mahan as they unpack:
The breaking news that Texas Children’s Hospital—the largest pediatric hospital in the nation—announced it will stop prescribing gender-affirming hormone therapies after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) initiated investigations into the use of transgender treatments for children, which followed an opinion from their attorney general that such treatments are child abuse;
Why HIV reporting requirements should be kept, and why it is the most compassionate response to the diagnosis;
The Loudon County Schools scandal where a boy wearing a skirt raped girls at two separate schools... and how the schools covered it up to protect their political agenda, with special guest and the investigative journalist who broke the story, Luke Rosiak.
Luke Rosiak is an investigative reporter for The Daily Wire who broke the Loudoun County school bathroom rape story widely credited with helping swing Virginia's gubernatorial election. Working with Peter Schweizer's Government Accountability Institute, he spent two years researching and writing an investigative book on the problems in K-12 schools called Race to the Bottom: Uncovering the Secret Forces Destroying American Public Education, released March 8.
The book details the effects of critical race theory and teachers union influence on schools across the country, and shows how schools have long operated for the benefit of administrators rather than students--such as using tricks to hide declining academic rigor. It follows the money to reveal how special interests are inserting far-left content into schools in even red districts, and examines how parents can fight to restore schools to places focused on learning the basics. Luke previously worked for the Daily Caller News Foundation and the Washington Post, and has appeared on TV shows such as Tucker and Hannity. He lives with his wife and children in Fairfax County, Virginia.
