What is a gender?

What's Happening

  • What is a Gender? A California school district is now teaching students that there are eight gender identities, and ten different sexual identities. The Newport-Mesa school district, located near Huntington Beach, has also instructed students on gender identity using a "Genderbread" man in the district's sex-education classes.

  • Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes: Oberlin University had their appeal rejected in a case where a local bakery sued the university after being accused of being racist by a school administrator. A lower court ruled the University must pay $36 million in damages to the owners, after a 2016 shoplifting incident became a flashpoint event with students claiming a history of racism from the bakery.

  • You've Got Options: Center for Christian Virtue started a billboard campaign in downtown Columbus to inform parents of their options to attend private schools using the EdChoice scholarship. This comes after the teacher's union and school district failed to reach agreement on a deal to have Columbus City Schools start on time.

  • One Down, Eight to Go: Women's Med Center, an abortion clinic in Dayton, will be closing its doors in mid-September due to the institution of Ohio's Heartbeat Bill. This is hopefully the beginning of a trend of abortion clinics closing throughout the rest of Ohio.

Bring CCV to Your Church: The Rise Up Tour

With only a few Sunday dates still open on the tour schedule, we are extending you the opportunity to have us speak to your congregation! Go to BuckeyeBallot.com/RiseUpTour to let us know what Sunday in September or October you would welcome one of our ministry speakers to come.

 Don't Miss

Prayer

Scripture calls us to pray for those in authority, and to have confidence that God hears our prayers. Join the CCV team this week in praying for:

  • All those struggling with addiction in our state.

  • Businesses and organizations who are targeted by woke culture and the pressure to relent from their morals.

That’s all we have for this week. Be sure to keep an eye out for our next edition, and don't forget to share CCV's Rundown with others.

Center for Christian Virtue

As Ohio’s largest Christian public policy organization, Center for Christian Virtue seeks the good of our neighbors by advocating for public policy that reflects the truth of the Gospel.
