WATCH NOW: Single-Sex Bathroom Privacy Bill Receives Hearing
COLUMBUS–House Bill 183 (HB183) would require schools to designate separate bathrooms, locker rooms, and overnight accommodations for males and females in the school building, as well as any facility used for a school-sponsored event. If passed, HB183 would ensure men cannot claim to be female and enter women’s private spaces and vice versa.
Sponsored by Representative Beth Lear (R-Galena) and Representative Adam Bird (R-New Richmond), HB183 is scheduled to receive a hearing before the Ohio House Higher Education Committee on Wednesday, October 18, at 10:30 am.
Watch Center for Christian Virtue Legislative Liaison Nilani Jawahar and others testify in support of HB183.
Please note that there are other bills on the committee's agenda and HB183 may not be the first one to be heard. Committee hearings are open to the public at the Ohio Statehouse.
