It's time for the Church to pray: A 2023 pro-life devotional
Since the Dobbs decision last summer that ended the tyranny of Roe v. Wade, six states have voted on abortion ballot issues. The pro-life side lost in all six elections. Now the fight is here.
Planned Parenthood, the ACLU, and their allies are pushing to enact state versions of Roe v. Wade across the country, and they are targeting Ohio—and only Ohio—this year.
As Christians, we have no greater weapon than to bring our requests before the throne of Heaven. To equip the Church to pray boldly in this season, we produced a pro-life prayer devotional to distribute to churches, ministries, and individuals across Ohio.
Copies are now available, free of charge!
More Than Conquerors: Six Weeks of Prayer for Ohio, the Unborn, and Women features a foreword by Alistair Begg, a weekly devotional, and daily scripture prayer prompts and spaces to record personal reflections.
The devotional covers six weeks in honor of the time from conception to the development of an unborn child’s heartbeat.
You probably recognize the title is an allusion to Romans 8:37, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Even with the monsoon of pro-abortion political cash that is flooding Ohio in support of the abortion ballot initiative, standing for life is not a lost cause!
By bringing the saints to their knees through the series of prayers in this devotional, we hope to inspire the body of Christ in Ohio to personal repentance and holiness, petition the Lord for His mercy, and compel the Church to defend the unborn and their mothers.
MORE ABOUT THE PROPOSED ABORTION AMENDMENT
In February, Ohioans for Reproductive Freedom, a group of radical pro-abortion advocates that includes Planned Parenthood, Pro-Choice Ohio, the Abortion Fund of Ohio, and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Ohio, unveiled the language of their proposed ballot initiative for this November’s election.
The extreme and dangerous proposal to amend the state Constitution would:
Legalize abortion up until birth, including gruesome partial-birth abortion.
Eliminate Ohio’s protections for unborn children with Down syndrome, meaning that children can be aborted solely for having a disability.
Abolish all requirements that parents give consent before their minor child has an abortion.
Require that minor children can receive transgender medicine—including dangerous cross-sex hormones, puberty-blocking drugs, and even surgeries.
Eliminate the legal requirement for abortionists to follow basic hospital health and safety standards that protect women.
In short, Ohio’s abortion laws would be as radical as oppressive countries like China and North Korea.
Pro-abortionists have hired canvassers to try to gather 412,500 signatures by Wednesday, July 5, so that they can put the amendment to a vote this November.
Despite the arguments they use to try to mask their real intentions, the truth is evident. Just this week, the ACLU of Ohio admitted they don't want any limits on abortion.
However, we have a chance to elevate the standards to amend our Constitution before November by voting for Issue 1 in the August 8 Special Election.
This isn't a year the Church can sit out.
