Center for Christian Virtue Launches Ohio Christian Business Partnership to Serve and Empower Christian Business Owners
Over the last few years, we’ve seen the dramatic rise of “Cancel Culture,” specifically targeting Christian business owners.
The Christian business owners I know are focused on growing their business, serving their employees, and being a blessing to their community. Yet simply claiming the name of Christ, and operating your business in line with your faith have become grounds for “cancellation.” Like one business owner you’ve certainly heard of:
In 2019, the Cathy family, the owners of Chick-fil-A was caught up in a scandal in the national media. They were called “bigots” and “haters” for their actions.
Their crime: making a donation to the Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army is a Christian ministry. They serve all people, no matter their background or orientation. Yet the Salvation Army confesses to hold to timeless, biblical truths about family, sex, and marriage. This is cause for cancellation, both for the Salvation Army, and any business owner daring to support them.
These type of bully and intimidation tactics are not isolated to Chick-fil-A. Business owners in Ohio face incredible threats not just to participate in religious ceremonies that violate their faith, but to support political agendas like bills that require men be allowed in women’s restrooms, or dangerous anti-police policies.
Christian business owners face threats like never before. And unfortunately, the Chambers of Commerce and many other business organizations have abandoned their traditional pro-freedom platform to support radical liberal policies.
That’s why CCV is launching the Ohio Christian Business Partnership.
This new partnership will educate business owners about these threats, mobilize them to act and defend their businesses, and celebrate the victories we accomplish across the state while advocating for the Christian’s right to run their business.
We will be creating a bi-weekly newsletter with relevant stories and resources for business owners in the state, as well as curating additional resources and opportunities for them to be active in the defense of their businesses.
