What's Happening

• Why We March: Today marks exactly one week from Ohio's first ever March for Life. The March, beginning on the West Lawn of the Statehouse, comes after a judge in Cincinnati extended a pause on the state's Heartbeat Bill for two more weeks. To sign up for the March, click here.

• Backpack Bill Stands Strong in Arizona: Teachers unions in Arizona failed to get enough signatures to put the state's universal voucher program to the ballot, meaning their recently passed "Backpack Bill" will remain law. The organization collecting the signatures held a press conference on Friday, announcing they had collected enough signatures, only to realize this week that their number would fall short. The legislation is modeled similarly to Ohio's Backpack Bill, which you can read more about here.

• State School Board Presses Pause: The Ohio State School Board decided to delay a vote on transgender ideology in the classroom until October. The resolution urges schools to keep parents informed should their children be pressured by schools to undergo gender transition. Keep in touch with CCV to get more updates on the situation.

• A Sign of the Times: Democratic Cuyahoga County prosecutor Michael O'Malley voiced his support of Ballot Issue 1, allowing judges to consider public safety when setting a bond. The ballot issue has been piloted in part by Republican State Representative D.J. Swearingen as leaders from across party lines look to curb increases in violent crime.

• In Thin Air: The Department of Education attributed a clerical error to explain why hundreds of thousands of comments were deleted on Biden's proposed Title IX changes. The proposed changes would require schools to protect sexual orientation and gender identity in their Title IX protections.

As we endeavor to raise children who walk with Jesus and embrace His ways, it is essential to provide a strong biblical foundation. Parents needs to be both fully aware of what their children are facing, and be equipped to be able to help them navigate challenging times.

Culture: The Clash for the Next Generation’s Hearts and Minds.”
