Key Details on the May 3rd Primary Election

Voting season is upon us! The primary election decides which candidate from each political party will advance to the general election. Due to an ongoing redistricting battle between the Ohio General Assembly and Ohio Supreme Court, the ballot for the primary election this May will look a little different than expected. Here’s what you need to know:

The offices which will appear on the May 3rd ballot are any federal, statewide, and local offices, including:

  • U. S. Senator

  • U. S. Representative (Congress)

  • Ohio Governor/Lieutenant Governor

  • Ohio Attorney General

  • Ohio Secretary of State

  • Ohio Auditor

  • All other statewide offices

Because the new state legislative district maps have not yet been finalized, the following offices will not appear on the May 3rd ballot:

  • Ohio State Senator

  • Ohio State Representative

  • State Central Committee Member

The election date to vote for these offices is yet to be confirmed.

We encourage you to research the candidates before you vote, and to prayerfully consider whom to support before you cast your ballot! Because Center for Christian Virtue is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan organization, we do not endorse or oppose candidates. We can share with you information about endorsements from other organizations from a wide array of viewpoints.
