David Arrell Joins OCEN as Assistant Director

The Ohio Christian Education Network (OCEN) is thrilled to announce the hiring of Dave Arrell as Assistant Director, with special emphasis on leading OCEN’s school planting project. He will work in a part-time capacity while finishing the academic year in his current role as Superintendent and Director of Education at Grove City Christian School (GCCS) before joining OCEN full time in June.

“Dave's experience leading some of the best Christian schools in the Midwest will provide the dedicated leadership and expertise we need to fulfill our vision of planting Christian schools across the state and giving every Ohio student an opportunity for a high-quality Christian education,” said OCEN Executive Director Troy McIntosh.

Dave brings more than 37 years experience in both church-based and independent Christian schools. His teaching and coaching career began in 1985 in Maryland and he also has served as an Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Head of School in Christian schools in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio. He has been the Head of School at GCCS, just south of Columbus, for the past eight years.

Dave is active in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) in a variety of ways, including hosting events for other Christian school faculty and leaders. He is Vice Chair of the ACSI Regional Accreditation Commission and also serves a group of schools in Ohio as a Field Director.

Dave graduated from Lancaster Bible College (PA) with a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Johns Hopkins University (MD) with a Master of Science in Education. Dave’s wife, Lori, is a third-grade teacher at Grove City Christian School. They have two adult children, one of whom is an Athletic Director at a Christian school in northern Ohio.
