ACTION ALERT: Save Women's Sports Act To Receive First Hearing

The Save Women's Sports Act (HB61) to Receive a Sponsor Hearing in the Primary and Secondary Education Committee on Wednesday

COLUMBUS—The CCV-backed Save Women's Sports Act (House Bill 61), sponsored by Rep. Jena Powell (R-Arcanum) and Rep. Reggie Stoltzfus (R-Paris Twp.), is scheduled for its first hearing tomorrow, April 28, in the Ohio House Primary and Secondary Education Committee. This bill is critical for preserving women's hard-won Title IX rights in Ohio, but opponents are trying to pressure Committee Members into not moving the bill.

The Save Women's Sports Act would ensure girls have equal access to a fair playing field in Ohio school sports by prohibiting biological males from competing in women's athletic events.

This is the first hearing for the bill, and the first opportunity Rep. Powell and Rep. Stoltzfus have to testify in support of their bill in front of the Committee Members. Don't let the bullies be the only voices heard—your legislators need to hear from you to support this crucial bill!

TAKE ACTION NOW

There are TWO action items that you need to do now to help ensure this bill gets passed to preserve a level playing field for our women and girls:

  1. Call Committee Chair State Rep. Gayle Manning (R-North Ridgeville) to encourage her to give the Save Women's Sports Act top priority

  2. Use CCV’s Action Center to urge your State Representative and Senator to support the Save Women's Sports Act!

Your personal support to Chairwoman Manning and your legislators is critical. Anti-women organizations like Equality Ohio have been systematically targeting our lawmakers by name, hoping to peer pressure them to caving to their demands to erase women's rights.

Don't wait until it's too late! Support women's hard-won Title IX rights for fair play in sports by encouraging Chair Gayle Manning and your State Representative and Senator to pass the Save Women's Sports Act (HB61)!
