BREAKING: House Passes CCV-Backed Bill to Ensure Aborted Babies Receive Humane Burial

Ohio House Passes Fetal Remains Bill to Ensure Aborted Babies Receive Humane Burial

COLUMBUS – In a 60–35 vote, the Ohio Houses passes Senate Bill 27, which ensures aborted babies' remains are humanely buried. Right now in the state of Ohio, aborted fetal remains are often disposed of as medical waste. Senate Bill 27, sponsored by Senator Joe Uecker (R-Miami Township), requires those aborted fetal remains to be either buried or cremated.

“Senate Bill 27 honors the dignity of the unborn, no matter their status as wanted or unwanted,” said Aaron Baer, president of Citizens for Community Values. ″The bill ensures standards are in place to dispose of these children's remains with humanity and the same respect every other human person deserves."

The mothers would be given the option before the abortion procedure to have their child buried or cremated, and in the case that they decline to decide, the choice would be left to the abortion provider facility.

SB 27 was passed out of the Ohio Senate in March with a 24-7 vote. It now heads to Governor DeWine for his approval.
