During this time of the coronavirus pandemic, we can find ourselves slipping into a place of fear due to the uncertainty of what will happen next. Will we have jobs? Are we going to make it through this OK?

However, let's not forget that we have a powerful God who loves us! Sometimes during crises, our ability to see the true nature of God can be clouded by negative news reports and fear. God has promised to keep us in perfect peace if our mind is stayed on Him.

I have been told that the coronavirus has a morphology that resembles a crown. In our society, those who wear a crown get all of the attention. Think of when a king or queen enters a room - all eyes are on them. They become the object of everyone’s attention. They become the topic of everyone’s conversation. Indeed, that is what is happening! Coronavirus is all over the news and the center of conversation all over the globe. My question to you is how much of your attention has been taken from Jesus - the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?

The name of Jesus is the name that is above every name and that includes the coronavirus! Even corona is not more powerful than the cross of Christ!

If you are finding yourself focused more on corona and less on what Jesus has done for us, then do a self-check. Ask the Lord, “Lord, am I trusting in the news reports more than I am trusting in Your word?”

Many of us know the answer to that question. I want to challenge you to focus on the Lord and His promises more than the news reports that will tempt you into fear. See this pandemic and time of quarantine as an opportunity to learn more about who God really wants to be in your life. Promises show us who God intends to be for us. He likes to give promises for problems.

Times of crisis and uncertainty are the perfect opportunities to know God more personally. If you are anxious or worried, why not keep your mind on Him so you can become a partaker of His divine nature of perfect peace?

Rather than being overwhelmed with worry, why not learn to be overtaken by the perfect peace of God?

Wouldn’t you rather abide in Him in this way? Will you allow His promise of perfect peace to make you peaceful like Him - the Prince of Peace? This is the perfect opportunity to dethrone corona and let Christ shine through your peace that in these days will speak loud that Jesus is King!
